Mark joined Paul Butler Associates in 2023 with over 10 years’ experience working across the historic environment sector. Mark is a fully accredited member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) and has worked across a diverse portfolio of projects, providing a range of services to unlock the potential of sites across the historic environment.

His portfolio includes some of the largest and most respected conservation projects across the country, including the £330m refurbishment of the Grade I Listed Manchester Town Hall acting as heritage consultancy lead. Through advocating a heritage-led approach Mark has enabled development for a range of challenging development sites in and around heritage contexts.

Mark has undertaken Conservation Management Planning, Statements of Significance and Heritage Statements; including those for large, complex, and sensitive heritage assets. Mark has also successfully represented both local authorities and developers at planning hearings and appeals acting as heritage expert witness.
