Due to the site’s sensitive location within The Downs Conservation Area and opposite the Grade II listed St Johns Church, extensive consultation was undertaken with the Council and the local community, including residents, The Bowdon Conservation Group, Bowdon Downs Residents Association and Altrincham Neighbourhood Business Plan Forum.
Paul Butler Associates Ltd prepared a Planning and Heritage Statement in support of the planning application, which highlighted the numerous economic/social/environmental benefits of the scheme. Benefits include its high design quality which will have a positive impact on the setting of the church and the character and appearance of the conservation area. Paul Butler Associates Ltd are currently involved in discharging the planning conditions, with a start on site scheduled for August 2016.
