The scheme includes two main interconnected components, a 44 storey building adjacent to Trinity Way and a 15 storey lower element. Due to the scale of the development, a series of planning issues required detailed consideration, not least the design quality of the development and its relationship with the surrounding area, its potential impact on the amenity of existing neighbouring residents, and its potential impact on nearby heritage assets including the Grade I listed Manchester Cathedral and Chetham’s School of Music.
Paul Butler Associates Ltd consulted key statutory consultees on the proposals, including Historic England, prepared the supporting Planning and Heritage Reporting, and provided general advice during the processing of the application. The scheme was approved by Salford City Council in March 2016.
