Regeneration : Dantzic Street, Manchester
Paul Butler Associates Ltd secured planning permission for a mixed-use development comprising 344 residential apartments and 810 sqm of commercial accommodation on the site of the former Phillips Rubber Works at the junction of Dantzic Street and Bromley Street, within the Lower Irk Valley on the edge of Manchester City Centre. The Practice also submitted a 'Stopping Up' application to allow the closure of a defunct road on the site, enabling the development to be implemented.
The site which currently accommodates a surface car park will be developed with a scheme consisting of two buildings; each comprising a tower of 14 storeys, set above a 4-6 storey podium. The scheme will provide a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, with commercial accommodation on the ground floor.
