Paul Butler Associates Ltd secured planning permission and listed building consent for part of the grade II* listed Victoria Mill, in Miles Platting to the north of Manchester City Centre. The proposals were for the change of use of vacant floorspace to create 9 apartments. Listed building consent was secured for the necessary internal and external alterations to part of basement and ground floor.
The practice provided planning and heritage consultancy services on the project, which included pre-application discussions with Council officers, preparation of a supporting Planning Statement which established the principle of the change of use, and a Heritage Statement which documented the Mill’s significance and assessed the impact of the scheme on the building.
