Commercial and Leisure : Commercial Union House, Albert Square, Manchester
Client : Bruntwood Estates Ltd
Paul Butler Associates Ltd secured planning permission for the extensive refurbishment of an office building on Albert Square, Manchester City Centre. Commercial Union House was originally constructed in 1982, and is within a highly sensitive part of the City Centre.
The refurbishment of the building involved alterations to the building façade including the replacement and enlargement of windows, the incorporation of part of the colonnade and adjacent retail unit into an enlarged reception area, café and multi-use co-working facility along with associated service, access and plant works.
The Practice worked closely with Manchester City Council to secure permission that has seen the refurbishment of this office building, enabling it to meet the expectations of modern office occupiers.
